Strength Training

Strength training is a great lifelong activity that can greatly improve an individual’s health. One of the most important benefits that strength training has on an individual is the power it has in decreasing the likeliness of many diseases. Some of the main diseases that strength training can reduce or prolong are arthritis, diabetes, depression, obesity, and many others.

By becoming involved in strength training many individuals can gain a better control over their weight. Weight loss is one of the main benefits of participating in a physical activity of this nature. They more muscle mass an individual has the more weight they are likely to loss. The reason that strength training aids in weight loss is because it increases an individual’s metabolic rate.

More Muscle Mass = Increase Metabolic Rate (fat being burned) = a decrease in the amount of fat an individual carries on their body
